Hassan lives in a small village in the sub county of Bugembe, which is about five kilometres northeast of Jinja. His father and mother are both alive but his father left his wife and four children when they were young and his mother left soon after. He now lives with his grandmother, who has too many children living with her to manage to pay for all of their school fees.
