Medical Support

Project Details

Project Description

With a plethora of illness, there’s no shortage of needs in this area. Of our 150 students and family members, most have suffered from malaria and many are afflicted with typhoid. A child and his/her immediate family’s basic medical needs (malaria, typhoid, minor illnesses and injuries) are covered under child sponsorship donations.

Medical emergencies, such as sudden life threatening conditions, broken bones and immediate surgical needs arise. We have also covered needs such as cancer, hydrocephalus and conditions resulting from TB.  In addition, a number of students and their family members suffer from chronic illnesses, one of the most debilitating being sickle cell anemia, a terrible illness that can be extremely painful and can require blood transfusions when it flares up.

These medical emergencies, often the most expensive, are beyond our regular funding and require additional designated support covered by this fund.
